21-Mar-21 Sunday Song Title - An Cuibhle Mòr (The Big Wheel)
This is one you'll probably all need to look up as it isn't considered mainstream. It's by my favourite band and written by the two guys who started that band in North Uist. The writters being Rory and Callum McDonald of Runrig. This was a track on one of their albums. The album track actually takes the Scottish Gaelic form of the name, whilst the album is named by the English Translation.
The band having been formed on the Hebridean islands performed songs in both English and Gaelic. In 2017 after 45 years the band decided to go their separate ways, for the last 15 years the lead singer was a non-Gaelic speaker Brian Guthro from Cape Breton, Canada. Their style could be called folk/rock.
P.S. There may be more Runrig songs in future!!!!!

4 weeks agoThanks to Pascale, I learned the title, and looked it up. I found the lyrics, so "got" the message of The Big Wheel. Never would have found it without your clues and Pascale's research!

4 weeks agoThis is a great one Kevin! I admit to have been stumped for sure. I (like Terry) first thought of Big Wheel A'Turning verser in Creedence Clearwater's Proud Mary, but you clues didn't fit. Thank you for the clues - otherwise I know that I wouldn't have gotten the title. I love the sepia processing too. Very nicely done!
